Optional Software Modules



The SpotOn system is offered as a complete package of hardware and software configuration. Measurement data is being captured and displayed in real-time. There are numerous applications where there is a need to integrate the measured data directly into another application program. The following software tools enable this operation:

RS232 Link to another port (or another computer)
The RS232 link for serial data transmission is already embedded into the SpotOn software. One can use it in order to transmit data to another serial port in the same computer or to another computer. Some simple definitions of the link setup parameters in the SpotOn application program, as well as in the receiving port at the receiving application program, are required. Also, a null modem cable should be connected between these two ports. Several application programs like LabView or LabWindows enable a simple activation of RS232 link for capturing data.

DLL's (Dynamic Link Libraries for Windows Applications)

The DLL's main functionality is for a "closed loop" type application, in cases where it is needed to use the SpotOn system hardware in order to control other devices.
A set of libraries to be called from a Windows application program is offered. The output of these libraries is the Position measurement and Power measurement.

There are two DLL versions for MS Visual C++ 6.0 (32 bit application):
DOSPOT32 – Activates only the SpotOn ISA card type system, namely for models: DQUAD01, DQUAD02, DLAT001, DLAT-N, SPOTQQ, SPOTLL, SPOTLQ, SPOTUU, SPOTLU, SPOTNN, SPOTNU, SPOTNQ.
  • For Models DQUAD01, DQUAD02, DLAT001, DLAT-N, the output parameters are: Position X (µm), Position Y (µm), Power (mW).
  • For Models SPOTQQ, SPOTLL, SPOTLQ, SPOTUU, SPOTLU, SPOTNN, SPOTNU, SPOTNQ, the output parameters are: Position X1 (µm), Position Y1 (µm), Power1(mW), Position X2 (µm), Position Y2 (µm), Power2(mW).
DOSPOTPC – Activates the SpotOn system which are provided with a manifold box, namely for models: SPOTPC-XX, SPOTPCI-XX, DUM-SPOTPC, DUM-SPOTPCI.
  • The output parameters ( for one PSD system) are: Position X (µm), Position Y (µm), Power (mW).
  • The output parameters ( for two PSD systems) are: Position X1 (µm), Position Y1 (µm), Power1(mW), Position X2 (µm), Position Y2 (µm), Power2(mW).

ActiveX Software

Enables operating the SpotOn CCD hardware and communicate with another Windows application program. The control software can fully control the SpotOn CCD software from another application and change measurement parameters and various settings in real time. Available for all models of SPOTCCD system.
OS supported: Windows 95 / 98 / NT 4.0 / Me / 2000 / XP, Software version 2.0 and up.
